Dear friends,
This is the result of the vote for linking Disorganized to Sorcery.Net.
After a hefty and bitter discussion, the long and hard counting of the votes and some voodoo rituals, we have come to a conclusion.
As the voting managers we are happy to welcome Disorganized with his server on SorceryNet! May your stay on SorceryNet be glorious you and bring a good server with a good Admin to SorceryNet!
Your Votingmanagers,
Roel_ and JJJ |

"A few weeks ago, I was sifting through data on an old hard drive when I came across a file titled Operator.txt, sent to me when I got my first O:line. Then it struck me: I appeared on SorceryNet in the summer of 1998, and I have been here for almost 10 years.
If my memory serves me right, after doing time in #help and #sorcery, I first oper’d up on in the summer of 2001. It was rather obvious then that I lacked knowledge of the technical side of things-- I remember scrawling the correct syntaxes for OperServ functions on Post-Its stuck to my monitor. But in my opinion, I made up for the areas where I fell short with enthusiasm, people skills, and sarcasm. |

Hello all,
We are glad to inform you we've got ourselves a new Network Director.
As whyerhead failed to post a document outlining why he thinks he should be the new Network Director in time, he has been disqualified. egypt however did post said document, which means she did go through to round 2.
However, egypt now being the only candidate, means there is no round 2, she's automatically assigned the ND status. egypt, congratulations on behalf of the entire SorceryNet staff!
Regards,
JJJ and Roel Voting Managers |

Hello all, As Dan posted a couple of days ago, he resigned as our Network Director. Well, he didn't actually resign, he didn't put himself up for Election for another period. So, who did put themselves up, I hear you ask? We've got two candidates, egypt and whyerhead. As stated in the Charter, they are to submit a document to the Voting Managers outlining why they feel they should be voted into the position. Egypt, whyerhead, please submit said document to the Voting Managers at the known address *before* Friday the 7th of september 23:59 GMT. Failure to do so means disqualification. This document will be posted on this list on Saturday, after which those who are eligible to vote have one week to do so, again on the known address. Eligible to vote are all IRC operators on SorceryNet to vote, provided they have held an o:line on SorceryNet for no less than one month prior to the date the vote starts. |

Hey all.
Well, it's been a long time coming, but I've finally decided to step down from my role as Network Director.
There are two main reasons for this. The first stems from a change in direction for me-- I am quitting my job and going to University, hence my time on the network will be further limited and I believe, if I remained in the ND role, this would hinder the network's progression. Secondly, I believe it is just time for a change. I have held the position for about 2 years now, I think and all my ideas have been exhausted-- in order for the network to carry on moving forwards, I believe some fresh blood needs to be injected.
I will remain in a co-admin role with Tagert until a time when myself, Tagert or one of the other admins deems myself no longer profitable to the network.
I would like to say thankyou to everyone who has made my time in the ND role so enjoyable. Special thanks must go to Andy, Broekie and Chainsaw, skumby, Onno, Tagert and Wolvie (sorry if I forgot anyone!).
I hope that, through working as a team, everyone can see the network has progressed a lot in the last 2 years and now the foundations are firmly in place for the network to expand and take the IRC-world by storm.
Good luck to all the candidates who put themselves up for the vote --don't let the bad stigma attached to the job put you off-- it's a lot of fun (and fairly easy ;)).
Once again, thankyou to everyone.
Regards,
--Dan |
